Wow, great post. I think you hit the nail on the head. So many people are going for the next shiny bright object that they neglect the knowledge and “secrets” of the last course they started taking (or worse, completed and didn’t apply the knowledge). That’s why there are only a handful of successful people.. because the other’s are content in following the herd to the next “secret” they can possibly apply to their business or blog in order to get rich quick! Your strategy has to be a blend of all the training that you have gone through.. and more importantly, you have to continue growing and learning till you have your own strategy. Online, know it all, usually means “doesn’t have anything at all”. Thanks for the post!

I’d like to add my 2 cents.

Execution & Tactics are only as valid as how they fit within the overall strategy.

It’s micro-management VS macro-management.

To use a warfare analogy.

Firing a cannon ball flawlessly, and spending resources on how to do this better, WITHOUT having the correct strategy on how to pick the right target will NEVER be as effective as knowing first WHERE to target, and then firing.

In fact, even if you fire poorly, if you have the correct strategy and know where to focus your energies, you will do much better than someone who can fire very well.

Strategy 1st, Tactics 2nd. But you really need both.

Hi John,

I always read your blog and follow it, but never left a comment until now.

I agree with you on this topic. I own a number of websites, and each time a run a special offer I get a huge spike in sales. Anything you can do to make people take action is a huge plus. Give aways, contests, games etc… these are all great ways to get people to become active and buy.

I look forward to seeing what you have coming out with Income.com I can’t wait I know it will be well worth the wait
