  1. Kris Says:

Glad I’m in a “quiet” non-IM market, because those 2 new videos make my Camtasia stuff look prehistoric :D

  2. Brian Says:

    Excellent videos!

The second video, after the opt in, is simple… but SO powerful.

You’ve pointed out a major weakness in the businesses of most internet marketers… I think it will really hit home.

    Regards,
    Brian

  3. Philip Says:

    Brilliant,

You are #1 John, nobody produces better content than you.

  4. Alex Says:

    Amazing videos!

John, which company do you use to produce your videos? We’re in desperate need of something similar for our non-IM niche.

    Regards,
    Alex

  5. Nick Says:

    Great videos John.

Very helpful stuff. Looking forward to Traffic Secrets 2.0

    All the best,

    Nick

  6. SuccessREI.com Says:

    John

Great looking videos plus good content as always…

Looking forward to the launch hoopla,

    Derek

  7. Edward Says:

    STRANGE VIDEOS !!

    Great tips,

    but……

The style of video seems a bit strange to me, as he is standing infront of large screens. It is clever but just looks strange. John seems like a robot and doesn’t blend in with the backgrounds.

He would have been better off doing camtasea videos like he did on the Reese report or TS1,

It looks like John is speaking from a deserted planet/ mars, and looks unrealistic. sorry but all criticism should be expressed, sorry John !

  8. William Clements Says:

    John,

Excellent production values on these first two
promo videos. You’re definitely stepping up
the bar for everybody else in this market.

Most $5,000 programs didn’t invest the time
and money in such appealing promo videos.
    (And you’ve out-done them for a sub-$500
program. Definitely starting a shift in buying
    expectations.)

Thanks - you already have my order.

    Will

  9. Bobby Says:

    The content is brilliant!

I do understand where Edward is coming from. The keying (of you) is too harsh from the background. In a natural environment you would be a bit softer. Perhaps have your graphics guys slightly soften your edges and you should blend better with the background and try to match the lighting of the background to your lighting. Another option is to go with a solid background like Eben Pagan did in his recent Guru Mastermind preview videos.

    My production 2 cents ;)

Still it doesn’t matter much, the content is wicked! Well done!

    Bobby

  10. Buy Trafficsecrets 2 + MassiveBonus Says:

I enjoyed the great videos, very professional John, but where is your buddy the “deadfish”?
    Keep up the good work
    Jay

  11. Mohammed Al-Saggaf Says:

    Great videos

    Thanks John,

  12. Edward Says:

Bobby quote “Still it doesn’t matter much, the content is wicked! Well done!”

Actually it does matter, whats the point of spending so much money and time into something to get a crap/ugly looking video?..

MORE CRITISISM: when he keeps moving his hands around, it looks funny lol. Like he is handling an invisible crystal ball lol.

and on Video 2 he states an example of “tips on how to put on shoes” at time 14.40 - How can there be any tips on putting on shoes? you simply just PUT THEM ON, end of task! that made me laugh.

  13. Phil Wheatley Says:

Great videos. Actually, Edward might have have given you a good idea for the next series, shoot it from Mars ;-)

Thanks for the free content and happy to see that it will be an affordable price this time.

    See you at the launch,
    Cheers,
    Phil

  14. Gun Says:

    Wow, crazy videos.
It definitely is UNIQUE, and maybe that was his intent.
I only wonder why he never smiles (but I’m sure there are some split tests even behind that…)

However - great style (look at those clothes - that’s what I call taste).

Really looking forward to TS2. Heard so much about the original TS. Thanks John for sharing all this.

  15. Gun Says:

just watching the videos… seems REVERSE ENGINEERING is extremely powerful. (not surprising - look at China, the biggest economic miracle in recent years, and it’s a lot about reverse engineering).

haha, look at that: somebody already registered RESULTSDETECTION.com just NOW! (July 3rd). Smart move.

  16. Spencer Jones Says:

Hello John, I am not that much lucky as everyone. :( I have been sitting here waiting to watch the videos till morning. It’s over 3-4 hours now, still I am in no luck. I wasn’t able to load over 20% of the videos until now. Everytime it loads and by around 15-20% it gets stuck, and then i have to load it all over again. I wish the videos are short sized. I am from India with a 256kbps broadband. Anyways i am still trying…

  17. Caro :-) Says:

Actually what stood out for me in these videos was John’s warmer seeming style.

I’m not a ‘follower’ of John’s per say - its more by association via Ed Dale.

I just compare his style in the Undies DVD series, and then also having seen him live once - to these video’s - and the likability factor is way higher for me as a prospect.

Also the content was there for me - I felt as if I was being offered some real workable tips - as opposed to just teasers - as I could take those and work on them myself and get started.

So for me as a prospect - the ‘harsh edges’ of the filming and such were not a factor in my feelings whilst viewing them.

As I make my decisions based on:

    a) Perceived quality and depth of content

    b) Likability of the presenter/expert.

As for us all - that is just one opinion :-)

I look forward to the ongoing series unfolding

    Caro :-)

PS: Another thing I loved is that they didn’t go on for too long - I find that I just can’t make myself watch those other video’s respected IMers make that go on for ever and ever - my attention span is not sedentary enough to allow it ;-)

  18. Dhananjay Says:

May be a great video but I am unlucky enough not be able watch the same. Credit for this goes to my ultra slow internet connection. Anyway I use MuVar for improving my chances of sales letter. I will try to watch video on broadband of my friend.

  19. Kris Says:

I can’t believe the amount of negative posts on this blog.

First the price is so great that people are desperately looking around for a hidden agenda that’s gonna suck thousands of dollars out of their accounts, and now the new videos are getting slammed.

I thought they looked great, and really set a new level of excellence that everything else will be judged by (but then again, I wasn’t sat here with a magnifying glass looking to see how well John’s outline blended in with Mars - good grief).

  20. Sant Says:

A big thank you John for sharing your insights. Reverse engineering/modeling is definitely a powerful way to cut short learning curve and get the results I want. Thank you for the reminder.

I hope in TS 2.0 you cover more specific technical details for non-techy people like me.

    Cheers.

  21. Rohit Sinha Says:

Well, I just watched the videos, and I think they were awesome. The content was great. Some of it I had heard before no doubt, but I liked the way how John presents them in a new way. It made me think, and that’s a good thing. Plus I did get plenty of new ideas.

John, have you heard about “Site Build It?” It ties in remarkably well with what you have to say in your second video.

As for the background that so many have been complaining about, I found it cool. The colors could have been better at some places, but overall, I loved it.

  22. Traffic Secrets 2 Bonuses *Massive Gifts* Says:

lol, finally the vids have rolled out.. just went thru them al, and it is quite big.. have to wait for them to load before can view it…

Opted in for the second, and its better..

cool, cant wait for this to come out

  23. Zangetsu Says:

After watching your videos, John, even if I have no money, I would still borrow 400 bucks to buy it.

    Can’t wait for this…. :)

One question, is this limited? I mean are you going to stop selling this when it reaches a point?

    Thanks

  24. Steve Gill Says:

Personally I loved the videos, both their content and visuals. Was actually surprised to read some people didn’t, but to each their own I guess. :-)

I did notice the autoresponder was quite slow in sending me my ‘welcome’ message, but I eventually received it.

T’would also be cool if the affiliate tools included graphics, banners, and other such ads we could use. I would have whipped up one myself but I don’t know what the package looks like and didn’t want to misrepresent by rehashing an old TS1 graphic.

I’m looking forward to Traffic Secrets 2 and will stay tuned for future updates.

    Congrats on a successful launch!

  25. Randy Says:

    Hhhmmm…

I somehow never got the first video and was only able to view the second. Not quite sure how that happened. Reading the posts here it seems everyone has viewed 2 videos, except for me, so I’ll comment on the second.

Anyway, I liked the content in the second video. I could relate very well with the info concerning how important the amount of content and pages are to the search engines.

My sites are based around this same idea in relation to RSS Feed and the content changing every 24-72 hrs with hundreds to thousands of pages. The search engines love this, and the linking too, of course.

Looking forward to what Traffic Secrets 2 may offer.

Thanks John to your comittment to continue to take IM to another level.

  26. fiona Says:

    cool videos,

how do we share ur content john… any digg this button or sharethis button …

    what do u think???

    thanks for ur content

    great luck to u

  27. Spencer Jones Says:

Hello John, Eventhough I was not able to load the videos, I was lucky enough to be able to download the video (as my real player showed an option for that) and I just wanted to let you know that the videos are totally impressive in look, quality and content and thank you so much for coming up with quality content all the time…

    Regards
    Spencer Jones

  28. MLM Training Says:

Happy 4th of July! What an incredible video… I’ve always had the idea that places like HuffingtonPost, Weblogs, Inc, and other huge blogs run their business a bit like a TV show. BTW, wasn’t it Weblogs, Inc that sold to AOL for cool $1 million?

Nice payday. Go out and see some fireworks tonight!

  29. ian chapman Says:

    Hi John,
great videos, I appreciate the way you look at the world and make things seem so obvious when you explain them. It has given me a few Ideas for new articles I can write for my Blog and ways I can optimise what I am doing already.

I think this is what I appreciated most about traffic secrets 1 it is the mindset that you display. This is what I hope to learn how to emulate. Following strategies blindly without being able to think is a waste of time because if everyone does them they will be out of date in no time. Knowing how to reverse engineer the success of others is always going to be a shortcut.

  30. Crisp100DollarBills Says:

    Hi John,
Loved both videos immensely. The multiple tips were awesome.
I’m in the middle of implementing some of them into a couple of my sites.

I didn’t purchase TS1 mainly because of the price, but TS2 is within my budget.
So, you definitely have a customer as soon as it’s launched.

Again, these pre-promo videos were made in a very concise, and
enjoyable format. I really got a lot of valuable info from them.

    Thank You John,
    Sandy Hall
    http://www.crisp100dollarbills.com

  31. Martin Kokeš Says:

John, I am very curious about the format, that you chose for the actual course.

I personally do not enjoy the format of these 2 videos, to me its too distracting, flashy, TV news-like… and kind of “their attention span is only 30 seconds”.

Yes, it is a cool web 3.0 virtual studio video format. But..

    Wishing all the best

    Martin Kokeš

  32. Martin Kokeš Says:

    … and … good content …

  33. Thomas Jones Says:

    Hi John,

the videos are fantastic and keep up the good work. I can’t wait to see the TS 2.0. Also, thanks to Andy Hussong, great Affiliate Manager.

    Best Wishes,

    Tom

  34. Antony Says:

    Funny,
the way I found out about the “traffic secrets”relases was JV email from Mike Filsaime…

Seems the old way, still the best way…JV Friends…

anything over $297 would be overpriced

  35. Amit Solomon Says:

    John,

Just finished watching the first video.

First up, I think the look of the video was very good and very professional. Web video (used by the IM community) has always seemed like the poor country cousin of video on TV. Finally, someone has upped the bar. And I’m happy that someone is you :-)

I’m very surprised that people are complaining about the production values. Hello, people? Have you really been watching video on the web?

Great tips - all of them - but what worked for me the most was Tip #10. I had been struggling with a problem in my advertising efforts and … BANG … the solution was staring down at me in Tip #10.

I’m ready for TS2…don’t need to watch a single video… isn’t there some page where your former students - and people who truly trust you - can go and pre-order TS2? Hey, if a Harry Potter book can be pre-ordered, why not TS2?
    Think about it….

Another thing…. You’ve lost weight! Considering you were never overweight, that’s saying something. Working out or just working too much? :-)

Take care - and God bless,

    AS

  36. Alfred Luckerbauer Says:

    Great information John !

This will help all my business partners with this pre launch company out of Germany.

    Best Regards

  37. Ivonson Says:

    Awesome video presentation Reese.

I like your free content and can’t wait for the product.
    Again cool video presentation.

    Best wishes

  38. Andy Hussong Says:

    Hi Tom,

Thanks for the kind words. It really means a lot to me because I truly do care about each and every one of our people… including email subscribers, customers, affiliates, and people who simply enjoy reading our blog.

I’m working hard to keep up with affiliate support emails and such, but if anyone needs anything at all, email me anytime!

  39. Roosevelt Cooper Says:

    Hi John,

Excellent videos, the production was AMAZING! I saw Mike F, Frank K and others HATING on your videos because of how high the quality was.

There was one tip you gave, I forget whether it was on the first or the second video but it was about content creation. On it, you pointed out how the Oprah Winfrey show doesn’t do a show and then at the end say “I wonder what we are going to talk about tomorrow.” You talked about how those shows are planned weeks, even months in advance and how we need to be doing the same with our content creation.

I for one will be the first to admit that I currently have been following the “I wonder what we are going to talk about tomorrow” model. However, that will be changing thanks to that video so awesome job!

Also, like Tom, I would also like to give kudos to Andy! Without his help, I still would have no idea what my affiliate link is. Only the Lord knows what happened to that email with that info lost in yahoo land somewhere so thanks Andy!

Regarding affiliate features, the #1 feature that I believe would benefit most affiliates right now is the ability to see how many people opt in from our affiliate pages.

  40. Nick Sullivan Says:

Just watched the first video - very nice. Watching the 2nd one now. Awesome work John, I will most likely be buying this course as it’s obvious you’re a very prolific teacher of prolific technique, you know what you’re doing.

    Thanks, Nick

  41. Adam Joseph Says:

I’m in as well… I can’t wait to get my hands on the product! John you got my order already as well..

    9 Days left :D

    Adam

  42. Matt Gordon Says:

Quote: “sorry but all criticism should be expressed”

That’s the dumbest thing I’ve heard so far in 2008 (but hey the political conventions haven’t happened yet so hope springs eternal). I’m really glad I’m not related to the person who posted that.

Great job on the videos, John and team, but you had me at “million dollar day.”

I think the REAL lesson from these first 2 videos isn’t in the fancy graphics, chroma-key, etc. It’s in John’s eyes. It’s the same look you’ll find in 3rd and 4th year medical residents — people who put in LONG hours day in and day out — the “all-nighter” look. Probably one of the reason’s he’s “John Reese” and you’re not (and I’m not).

I’m willing to work, and I’ll be one of the first to buy TS2. Anyone else? :)

    –Matt

PS: The reason Eben Pagan blended so well into his “Guru Mastermind” video backgrounds is because he wasn’t keyed in. They were real seamless paper backgrounds with different color lighting gels in different videos.

  43. Matt Gordon Says:

    Oh one more thing…

John, interesting choice there on the single opt-in with no name for future personalization. Would you like to elaborate on those decisions?

    Just curious.

    –Matt

  44. Edward Says:

Matt…what are you on about ‘medical residents’? are you insisting they ‘medical students’ they are the only ones that work hard in society? you fool! There are other HARD WORKING professionals in this world….. You Mega Mega MEGA Fool !!

You say you’ll be the first to buy TS2? How can you be so sure of yourself that you will be the first, amongst all us marketers? you seem very aragont Matt.

John is who he is because he is, not because he does all nighters… im sure hundreds of people here do all nighters. Matt please think before you type, and embarrass yourself!

  45. Dave Says:

this could really take the IM world by storm, people still go crazy for the original traffic secrets… I cant wait to get my hands on this

  46. John Reese Says:

Hey everyone! Thanks for the great comments. I´ll try and reply to more of them specifically soon. I´m currently in Spain for Running With The Bulls.

  47. Chris Franklin Says:

    @Matt Gordon:

On a 1024 resolution screen, the initial request for a first name, last name, and then an e-mail address simply pushed the last two fields (including the submit button) “below the fold”. It’s likely this was hurting opt-ins.

Don’t laugh, but people like me are too lazy to scroll down, in fact, too lazy to even input more than just an e-mail address, and too dumb to understand anything other than the word “SUBMIT” in big bold letters. Okay, I’m being slightly sarcastic, but why make people “think” or “do” more than they have to? (So that, plus keeping everything “above the fold” is the likely reason for skipping the name variables).

Also… the length of this promotion is relatively short. Yes, I admitted before to being too dumb to understanding anything other than the word “SUBMIT” in big bold letters (maybe some NLP at play there, too)… but odds are I’ll “recognize” an e-mail from John Reese as being related to Traffic Secrets. Not including my first (or last name) as part of the subject will probably not affect my willingness to open a message from John.

Anyway, just some thoughts… I hope John doesn’t get gored! lol

    Chris

  48. Matt Says:

    @Chris –

Very good observation on the “above the fold” issue. I honestly hadn’t thought of that (I gave up design & have much more talented people do it for me). In a way, it does kind of translate into the single opt-in — e.g., people being lazy (or, well, yes stupid in the case of some). Are you saying that initially, the design did have the extra fields and it was changed?

(Speaking of single opt-in, I was at the customer conference of a large ESP in May where they asked for a show of hands of people using double opt-in, and I was shocked by how few people it. It was probably only about 10%. I would have guessed it would be way higher than that.)

And you’re most probably right that JR doesn’t “need” personalization to get a good open rate, but I still kind of thought it would be a nice tool to have in the toolbox, you know?

    Thanks for the reply,

    Matt

  49. Amit Solomon Says:

PAMPLONA, Spain (AP) — Daredevils kicked off the running of the bulls Monday with a long, messy and particularly dangerous dash through the streets of Pamplona, with nine people suffering bumps and bruises but none gored, officials said.

    From:
    http://ap.google.com/article/ALeqM5gko8rTx4diPNyUS4m7K7TxDNxY9AD91OVT3O0

John, did you run with the bulls? Got any video to share? Hope there were no “bumps and bruises” for you… :-)

  50. jessica millers Says:

    Hi John,

Apart from the great tips you shared with all of us, personally I’m quite amazed at your
    presentation skills.

Seriously you should be a TV presenter or talkshow host. You’ve the talent!
I can’t help but feel that you are extremely composed and eloquent.

  52. Chris Franklin Says:

    @Matt –

Yes, initially there was a spot for first name, then a spot beneath that for last name, and then a submit button. It vaguely resembled the sign-up form you can see on the Income notification list. (The “coming soon” page).

About the ESP conference wherein only 10% of the attendants used confirmed opt-in (also known as “double” opt-in)… that does surprise me. You know, what REALLY surprises me is that John (Reese) and his team don’t have a COI mechanism built into their in-house auto responser setup.

John has known Paul Myers for ages, and this is something Paul said in a Warrior Forum post a while back that I saved for future reference, and that I think is really on-point when talking about opt-in e-mails within the IM arena:

    ~~~
    There are circumstances in which COI (what most erroneously call “double opt-in”) is absolutely critical. There are others in which it’s a tiny thing and easily ignored.
    I could go into a multi-page diatribe about what should be done when, but I’ll skip that. One piece of advice:
    In the IM field, COI is very important. Why? Because the field has a much higher than usual percentage of people with no mental connection to reality and a huge tendency to lie and cheat and abuse others, often solely for entertainment or spite.
    ~~~

That makes sense to me. A lot of sense, yet John and his team have taken a maverick position that COI isn’t necessary. According to a study published by Aweber Communications (a large ESP with a ton of clients in the IM field), 5 to 20 percent of web form submissions are undeliverable right off the bat.

(You can check the Aweber site for an article entitled “Confirmed Optin Myths Exposed”, or words to that effect.)

In a lot of ways, I “get” why single opt-in is better: the honest people who input an accurate e-mail address won’t be inconvenienced by having to jump through additional steps to get what they requested.

Apparently there isn’t as much “collateral damage” as large ESP’s want you to believe as it relates to running a single opt-in list.

It would be fantastic if the head e-mail manager at Income.com would chime in with some thoughts about COI vs non-COI web forms.

Anyway… I’ve got to get back to work.
    -Chris

  53. Gun Says:

@Andy Husson: Also want to take the opportunity again to thank you for getting back to me so fast and handling the whole issue in such a great way.

Yes, there might be a lot of scammers online, but try to find a company OFFLINE that has the level of customer care I experienced with Income.com, and how John decided on the issue - in fact, the only place I know of that has comparable service is a certain five star hotel, and they charge more than double per night what you charge for the whole traffic secrets course (I know their service because I was working for one of their guests).

You rock! Wish I could buy “Income.com stocks”.

  54. Tony Mandarich Says:

The two videos are great IMHO. I didn’t get traffic secrets 1.0 because I was in a different pre historic industry. I will be getting 2.0 the day it comes out. Great stuff!
    Tony

  55. mburton Says:

Looking forward to the new traffic secrets!

  56. Andy Hussong Says:

  59. Kris Says:

  61. NY SEO Says:

Thanks for posting this great web 2.0 info in these videos; I can definitely use this!

  62. Adam Says:

Is trafficsecrets 2.0 going to lunch 15. july?

    Adam

P.S. John are you still in spain?

  63. Kris Says:

Yeah, it does seem a bit quiet…

  64. The Official Internet Business Q & A Report Says:

You’re a true leader with a lot of integrity in heart.

  66. James Says:

    Hi, John

As always, you provide great content and do so generously. Picked up so many tips from you from these three vidoes, alone, thank you, and was reminded of many more tactics that I had overlooked! Can’t wait to apply them to all to my sites.

I also can’t believe the price of the product. I was expecting it to be in four figures but delighted that I may even qualify, as owner of TS1, for a free copy! Can’t wait!

Kind regards and all good wishes for your forthcoming launch.
