UPDATE: JULY 3, 2008. The initial free videos for the marketing campaign will be released in a few more hours. We’re just making some last minute changes. It now looks like there’s a 90% chance that we will begin the pre-launch campaign for Traffic Secrets 2.0 starting this coming Thursday, July 3rd. We’ll be releasing several great free videos — valuable stuff even if you have no interest in the course. If all goes according to schedule we’ll officially launch the course on Tuesday, July 15th. Brett - so glad to hear you got a lot out of TS1! It was definitely a landmark course when I released it in 2004.
TS2 is completely NEW. It also contains a really neat interactive learning platform that truly makes it a “step-by-step” course. So many courses claim to be step-by-step but really don’t give actual, SPECIFIC instructions. TS2 does (and more.)
I’m truly proud of this course. It’s definitely going to ‘raise the bar’ yet again in the IM industry.
I also want to point out that I made the decision to actually LOWER the price for TS2 rather than go with even higher prices like the IM market is trending towards. I want more people to be able to afford it this time, while of course still making a sound business decision.

I bought TS1 on your million dollar launch day in 2004 when I was severely in debt.
It was the catalyst for me and helped me sell more in the last quarter of 2004 that I had in the prior 3 years combined.
I also studied how you packaged the course and I used it as a template for my own info products. All I had to do was IMPLEMENT, which is the key to everything.
Aside from the core direct marketing concepts it taught, it also inspired me to continue to invest in education, which I still do to this day, even as my business approaches 8 figures.

I’m scoping out your launch strategy and tactics with laser focus although I might add that you have such a messaniac following, you could put up a dead fish, call it Traffic Secrets2 and still sell a millions dollars worth.

John, Four questions, please answer them…..
1)You have updated news/strategies about Twitter in recent posts, + blog rush + facebook etc, so ifyou made your TS2 course content months ago, wont that contradict the strategies/discoveries you outlined about twitter/blogrush/facebook in your blog weeks ago? or are the strategies pretty much the same?
2) I have your TS1 course and it was great. You said TS2 course will be ’step by step’, was TS1 Step by step? it was kind of wasnt it? or do you mean the TS2 course will be morestep by step than TS1 course was?
3)Is there a strategy to your low pricing, with a clever hidden marketing strategy
(upsell etc), be honest plz.

And I think it’s incredible what you’re doing with the price of TS 2, when you could easily charge $1997. A lot of people starting out are gonna be able to get a truly high-quality product that will do amazing things for them.
(I don’t think people should spend too much time worrying that they’re gonna be “upsold” $10,000 worth of product. Just get TS 2 at the amazing price!)

Roy - there are no upsells, no forced or optional continuity, no one-time offers. Just one course for one price, $397.
Rohit - the TS1 Blow-out sale included a big discount on TS2. You get the same price as other TS1 owners -> $297.
Kenny - 1) a lot of the course content was created in the past 30 days. That’s one of the reasons why the course got delayed — I wanted to make sure and include important strategies for Twitter and Facebook.
2) TS1 was step-by-step, but TS2 is more so. It involves a lot more steps and details.
3) As I just stated… no upsells, no special offers, no continuity. There is nothing else I have to sell you. Hard to believe, I know.
4) You should put TS1 and TS2 side-by-side on your bookshelf. They make a great pair.

However, I fear that because I live in Nigeria (and because of the usual ‘Nigerian’ problem), I might have issues buying TS2 during launch day and who can tell what would happen after launch day or even 6 hours after launch?

John, as you know there was a lot of fundamental (timeless) strategies revealed in TS 1.0… strategies that have stood the test of time because they’re the type of fundamental building blocks that are needed by most online businesses.
Would it be fair to say that TS 2.0 moves away from long-term fundamentals, and gets more into strategies and tactics that work today, but that might not really work in the next 6 months?
For example, in TS 1.0 you highlighted running an affiliate program as a way through which to generate unstoppable traffic to ones product(s). That’s as true today as it was in August of 2004 when TS 1.0 was release.
Will TS 2.0 get away from that, and get into the “trick of the day” type of material that works like gangbusters today, but that has less of a chance to stand the test of time?

Qu 5)Will there be a forum on income.com? i was a bit shocked that you locked/paused the forum on MarketingSecrets.com for such a long period of time. I feel if you left it open within this year then alot of people would have got their queries answered, so would have thought that you would leave it open until the income.com forum will be open, and then simply ‘transfer’ the threads, rather than have a big gap between the two…. is is there some reasoning/strategy to leaving a gap between the income.com forum and marketingsecrets forum?

Kenny - Yes, there will be a huge forum on Income.com — actually going way beyond just a typical forum. We shutdown the other forum to concentrate on building the new Income.com community site which will be a lot more extensive. Rather than transfer threads we’d prefer to start things from scratch.
Web 2.0 strategies, such as Social Media, *do* work but it’s a different process. It doesn’t work well for direct selling. It’s more for creating relationships and syndicating content. But as TS2 covers, there are powerful ways to use it to generate a steady flow of traffic that will turn into a lot of sales once you understand how to structure the marketing cycle.
In all honesty, we’re not shooting for any sales records, etc. If we were trying to do that we would have gone with a higher price — easier to generate more sales by selling to fewer people. We’re certainly a for-profit company and hope the release does really well, but our focus is really more long-term and people will quickly start to realize that when they see how Income.com is approaching things from a much different perspective.

Hey John,
Just a point on pricing - while I can appreciate the fact that you are not increasing the price, I wanted to alert you to the challenge some of us face who don’t live in the USA.
We are punished by severe monetary exchange rates i.e. 1US$ = +-ZAR 8.00
This means that your product would cost me about ZAR 3176.00 (which equates to US$3176 if you get my meaning). Boy, am I glad you don’t price in UKPounds whre we pay ZAR16.00 for one pound.
Now I know this isn’t your problem, but is there not something you can do to either make it more affordable or to provide a payment option over 4-6 months?
I have raised this issue with several big name gurus but not one has bothered to come back to me…..
I would appreciate your comment…

If anyone of you need some bonuses to buy this product, then you have NO FREAKIN’ IDEA how VALUABLE every lesson John teaches actually is.
You’d have to be brain-dead not to pay 400 USD for John’s lessons. I’d pay 1000s for a single hour of his time and still consider it a bargain.

Chris - hahaha. it’s not just “re-packaging” something but teaching concepts in a different way so people can take advantage of them. You can tell 1,000 people how to do something yet it it’s told to them a slightly different way people will actually ‘get it’ — so I pride myself in being able to make things more clear and easier for people to understand and use.

I’ve got at least 3 emails promoting TS2 now. Got interested enough to check the video out. One of the few who advocate the true concept of relationship building on the web20/social networking medium instead of ‘blasting’.
I wasn’t able to catch on this on FB. (I am not on your friend’s list. You are only one that I know of that has 5K friends in FB. Looking forward to TS2. Good to know that it is not on the 4 digit range.

Great video! I like to see good information first, then the details. I have now received 11 emails from others promoting this. Maybe I’m just on too many people’s lists.

I’m so happy about this launch and the specially the price “tag”. I’m 23 years old and have not been in the game so long. What comes to spending on products, its been crazy, really.
And to be honest most products in IM is very low quality. I got a good feeling about your new product Mr. Reese that i WILL be able to finally earn some money online. Even if it’s only a $100 a day. That’s my goal. Then i can quit my job and focus on something else in life.
Just the price tag says a lot about you Mr. Reese. You’re good and fair business man and truly want to help other people succeed in this business.
And you know what i want to follow every single step of yours and WANT to be your student. You my teacher in this business. Specially what comes to traffic.
So what my question is: Would i be some kind of VIP or have some kind of special relationship to you, to be able to have that title?

Regarding the discount link for TS1, John sent out an email early in the day to those who have qualified with “You’ve Qualified For The $297 Discount TS2 Price!” in the subject line, but if you are a TS1 customer and didn’t get that email, then the email we have on file for you is probably not current.
Therefore, if you are a TS1 customer who needs to order through the discount link, send me an email by clicking on my name, above, put “TS2 Discount” in the subject line, and provide your full name so I can research your order. Once I’ve verified that you ordered TS1 in the past (and didn’t get refunded), I’ll send the link to you.

I think it’s lame to that those who purchased it during the initial launch and paid full price only receive a discount on TS2.0. Those that purchased it later on down the road when John wanted to clean out his warehouse get TS2.0 for free. I now know that either I will not purchase any more of your stuff John, or maybe I’ll wait until you decide to clean out your warehouse. (I’ll probably not buy any more of your stuff, as that’s not cool in supporting those that jumped in first to support you.)
