TrafficJam.com Gets A Facelift!

Our dev team made a slight mod to the story layout on TrafficJam.com today.

We decided to kill the little thumbnail snapshots of each blog. They looked cool but took up too much room.

The new ‘cleaner’ designs now shows more stories before someone has to scroll — a much easier way to scan for interesting news.

Our little algorithm has been extremely impressive so far.

It’s far from perfect and occasionally some lower quality stories slip through, but overall it’s been amazing. Some great stories, sorted by category, all ranked live by the algorithm of what’s getting the most interest and engagement across the BlogRush network.

Not too shabby considering social news sites like Digg, Reddit, Propeller, and others rely on HUMANS to be submitting and voting on stories to determine relevance. TrafficJam.com is fully automated and managed by an algorithm.

    Hey John,

I do like the new cleaner look over at TrafficJam but I did also like the thumbnail next to the stories as well.

One theme I really like is the new buzz.yahoo.com.

    Keep up the great work!

    I like it better John.

Just a quick question… Aren’t sites being displayed on TrafficJam.com supposed to have the BlogRush widget on their blogs? Just wondering. Because, if so, I noticed a blog or two that don’t have the BlogRush widget on their blogs, yet their blog posts show up on TrafficJam.com. Perhaps they are using all their credits up? Is that it? Well, I do apologize if I am totally incorrect. But no matter, TrafficJam is still great!
