[...] John Reese recently concluded a very interesting campaign to get 5000 friends on Facebook. It didn’t take too long for him to hit the mark. We all know that Facebook sets the limit for your friends list at 5000, so for now it’s impossible to add any more friends. However, he decided to set up a “fan page” for those who missed out on being on the list that enables them benefit from his overly generous offers. [...]

It's turned out great for me. At least 80 people added me from john's list and I had an influx of new opt-ins added to my list from the link on Facebook. If people start to spam you just remove them. It's simple.

On Jack's forum/blog, it's a great resourse that i send people to for up to date web 2.o info and tips.

Hope to you see all on Facebook at some time

I really thought you joining would be cool. To be honest..it bites..Spam has risen like crazy and its taken the fun out of facebook. Good grief Mike has joined ..Joel has joined..This is not cool. Great for face book..bad for folks that acutally had fun on facebook. Maybe you should have picked 100 people who you personally invited. Just my 2 cents

I thought it was kind of funny but at the same time excited to find all the big time marketers just all of the sudden pop up, most of which are already my friends now in the last few days, since your email. I knew it was only a matter of time. I love Facebook and have been using it since last October.

I'm really surprised by the spamming people are experiencing. I've only received two spam wall posts in the entire 3 years I've been on Facebook (for ringtones...what else). This is one of the main reasons why I like Facebook so much better than MySpace (you can't go a day on there now without getting spammed). Hopefully Facebook isn't going down the same route..

Looks like its taking off in huge numbers. When i joined facebook it was to yes, see if old freinds were contactable, as i havent heard from many in years, but even before Mr Reeses invite i was marketing my bussiness (http://www.GlobalWebsiteCreations.com ) in a light manner. Since i even read that fact from Mr Reese that he was interested in the facbook program a light went on and i thought to myself there has to be something of a marketing network here. so I added a placment add for my bussiness at a pay per click rate. My question is , Mr Reese, have you discovered more marketing traits on facebook other than networking and pay per click adds ? Thx for your acceptence on facebook, Creatively yours, Todd H

I've noticed the exact same thing, soon as I became your friend I started getting heaps of requests from other internet marketers. Can't believe that so many resort to blackhat spamming however, it's very low.

Honestly the only Internet Marketers I've ever bought off are the ones that have provided me with great value: John Reese, Eben Pagan, Frank Kern etc (there is a reason why they are the biggest and most well known), not the non-name guys that spam facebook profiles in order to push a product.

Im sure 99% of internet marketers are with me on this one, internet marketing folk are smart guys so please don't even bother with the spam.
