I wrote down the entire formula, it’s completely changed the way I think about my business.
BTW John, I just got your email about the RJ party and… I have to say, not everyone was mad at you.
I for one didn’t give the email a second thought, you made it clear you were against his marketing methods.
I guess some people didn’t understand you clearly enough or they are just assholes. Either way, don’t let people get to you John. I think you’re the most ethical marketer their is.
Oh, and one more thing, I almost never read Kennedy’s emails, nor Jim Edwards, or 99% of all the other marketing lists I am on… but… I always read your emails John. They’re filled with quality content you don’t see anywhere else.
You should send them more often, I like reading them.

I want to let you know Im a woman, and I read every single piece I receive from you, and articules of other people that I read something about you, because you ethics and knowledge.
When I receive your email about the playboy mansion I was pretty disapointed, because you tell you are not supportive about this guy BUT you do it for charity, and thats is very offensive, because you can make charity in so many different ways and not to do it public, charity is just a excuse in order to do something that is completly incorrect.
I never read the sales letter because I dont follow it, Im not interested in read trash, Im a mother of 3 little girls and I dont support nothing porn or porn in a disguise.
I dont care if was insulting the marketing or sexisist I really dont care becuase Im not on it, we need to take care of the thing regarding who send it, in this case that trash was send it by a jerk, but in your case, is very … disapointed, and you try to justify yourself, but at the very end you will go on.
Sorry, but you will attend becasue you receive more than 20 emails about people who want to meet you? well out or there are thousend of people who want to meet you too but with integrity.
At the same moment Im sending you thie letter Im unsuscribing for all your email list, I’m feel deeply disapointed about you.
Im almost sure you will not read this letter, but the damage was do it more deep with the last email you send.

It takes a lot to stretch out and apologise John and you even exerted to respond immediately to the comment. The nature of the type of person you are in business, ‘try, test, if fail then improve to not repeat failures’, it is obvious that this principal has been applied since you sent out the email and have responded here.
I work within the community and volunteer sector and have a stringent equal opportunities policy and support a lot of women groups from socially deprived backgrounds.
The initial email was disappointing, however I believe you were just played and manipulated. It was a case of wolf in a sheeps clothing when you saw Rich Jerk and his charity appeal. When we come across charity scams through the workplace, they are usually very well proposed strategies to prey on peoples good nature and a lot of people fall for it! We all try to give others the benefit of doubt especially when they are committed to a act of good. It was just your bad that you got played, but glad to see that you have attempted to rectify the mistake, it will take some time and with others it may be difficult to even forgive; I hope this brings you out stronger on the other end.

Hey John, I’m a female and I’m still on your list. Don’t worry the females still like you. I’m sure they will come around and tell you soon. LOL! (They always do anyways hee hee)
Anyways, your latest video was great. You know it reminds me of an email I received recently from some other marketer. Well it kind of goes back on the subject of the other video. Well maybe not that much, probably off something you said in the past rather. He says if you are writing copy, handling customer service, creating products yourself, and putting up mini websites yourself (which I don’t like mini sites.) then you don’t have a business you have a JOB. Actually I have a question about mini sites for you. But I’ll wait to ask it on that form of yours that will go up on Income.com soon. And I have plenty more questions so I hope your ready! haha.
Well I was going to go RJ’s event but decided I am going to wait for you to hold an event. (If you ever do. Are you? Well you should. If not I guess I’ll just go to some other event.) Have fun John!

I just read your email and had to come right over here
and thank you. First, for the thought and time you
put into your letter. Second, for causing me to feel
relief.
I don’t know if any other marketers have followed
suit because I’ve unsubscribed from many of their
newsletters when they promoted RJ’s products.
Really, how can anyone promote someone’s product
who makes a video sitting on the toilet? I needed a
hot shower after seeing that excuse for marketing.
To the other maketers who actually claim RJ is a
marketing genius…well, go figure. Before I go
completely off to the soapbox, I should stick to
the point.
And that is to thank you again, for the letter. I’ll continue to
be a subscriber. If I may, just a word of advice, John. When
you shake RJ’s hand, uh…would you please rush to the
nearest restroom and give YOURS a good washing?

I have mixed feelings about the Playboy issue. We don’t want to promote porn, much less, degrade women. But this happened because you are in the public’s eye and every attempt will be made to exploit you, for whatever reasons. I think the apology you sent should have vindicated you. But everyone has a right to their own opinion, decisions and views on things, and although we can be aligned on certain issues, we don’t have to agree on everything. As I’ve said before, I think you have proven to be honest and sincere in your effort to teach people how to setup and manage online businesses, and for this I’m grateful given the abundance of scams on the net.

Hi John,
I got your email about the Playboy thing which was good, because when I got the first email I stopped being a customer of yours. I was extremely furious! I was offended that it was a exclusion of women, saying we’re not good enough to be invited…I was incredulous thinking “My god, do these men know that there are tones of us women internet marketers who are just as savvy as these men?”
But due to your credibility, integrity and good faith I will happily come back. Thank you for being a bigger man than all your other competitors who have not bothered to do what you did. And who don’t understand that the 1950’s has gone and women do more than iron, wash and cook. Hell some of us even vote and ride bicycles.
Thank you for your goodness Mr Reese. You are a gem.

I couldn’t agree more with this. I was actually listening to one of your interviews with Armand Morin that you did about 3 years ago. You mention a lot of your formula in that interview, and that was years ago!
That’s a true testament to how well this works if you have been using it for year, I would think more than 3. Perhaps 15 years?
I really like how you mention brand the end, because to me thats one of the most important parts to building a business - in any market. A lot of people overlook it, and don’t pay attention to their brand. Even a little branding goes along way. Also the business mantra goes hand in hand with the brand, I believe.
I working on my own brand as well
. MonetizeDesign which mantra is something : “Money Making Design Assets” - (still in development!).
Build a brand from the start, and its going to get stronger. Like you said in the interview years ago, your not going to do any worse than you are right now. Same goes with the brand, your brand isn’t going to get any worse over time, only stronger.

I watched your Reese Formula video. Strong presentation. On the subject of Google identify by site: Gathering JV partners is not for the faint of heart. Even with the site identifier, finding legitimate players is similar to searching for a needle in a haystack. Tons of phone calls and even more emails.
Like placing ads in ezines, it’s such a hit or miss process. Any previously unannounced hints that you can share?

The points John makes are very valid.
I especially appreciate the general posture John has with his business, being willing, for example, to give away free product in exchange for asking for people’s opinions.
I find that is an attitude and approach that very few people would take. I would call it a more-than-generous approach, and it’s encouraging to me to see a successful business owner espousing such solid advice.
