Hye john great advice, my question for you is this: with the one HUGE site does dynamic linking still factor in as with networking sites? Ive been using mike campbells dynamic linking strategy and now after seeing this vid, Im wondering if it is still going to be effective as it is now?
Oh any tips on how to get a 6 yr old boy to mimic ;-P
June 25th, 2007 at 7:43 am
I like this a lot. “Become the authority in your niche… focus on one website.”
Thanks for sharing, John.
June 25th, 2007 at 8:33 am
Hi John,
Got it Niche, Niche, Niche and Hammer it and hammer it one more time
June 25th, 2007 at 8:33 am
I totally agree with this. If you become an authority in your niche there are so many ways to monetize it without the need to venture into another niches to make additional income. However I do still think it’s worth having another site or two that are similar niches to spread the risk.
June 25th, 2007 at 9:44 am
Great video John. I completely agree with you that large, high-quality authority sites need to be a primary focus. I think people with really large authority sites have always been envied by people with multiple small sites.

why in the world you never thought releasing any videos

The question arose due to many slow connection in other regions
outside us, like me, for example.

very good video John
I thank you for sharing it with your readers.
I agree with being the king in your niche is the best way to go.
June 25th, 2007 at 12:10 pm
This makes SO much sense. It’s OK to have multiple sites but the development should not be simultaneous. I have experienced this first hand. If you build 4 sites at once and make a mistake, then the mistakes are spread out to 4 sites. And there’s a huge lack of research and focus.
I average $5-10/day from those “quick to develop” sites. But when I developed well researched sites one at a time, I average literally $120/day. That’s 1000% more profit.
thanks,
Giovanna

What maybe needs to be elaborated on is what is it that is causing the change in the current model?
Also further elaboration to the reader as to what is the ideal model for this niche/site. Do I take the concept of multiple products in one specific niche to that one site and wrap that site with a forum, blog, user interaction, etc.
Clarification is more important here. You are asking us to pump 80% of our resources into one niche and further stating into one site, however without a diagram it makes it difficult for me to understand where to start. If I am to dissemble my current activities in multiple sites and niches because I am cutting it thin and input the concentration into this one niche/site, there has to be a model to follow!
Micheal Cheney was able to display that model with his seniority website which was very much web 1.0 with elements of web 2.0 and his Marketing Bible actually provided a detail procedure from concept to design.
In all fairness to the reader a teaser video of this nature can only lead to disarray without substance. I feel you have an obligation to follow this up with a detail framework or mode, otherwise you are asking a reader to resort to their own device to explore and find a working model in this direction; which requires time, effort, energy, more and other resources.
June 25th, 2007 at 1:28 pm
I am so thankful to have found your website. The information that you give is right on target and very helpful to someone just starting out. Thank you for mentioning in the video that you should find a niche and work at becoming an expert in that one thing.
I think too many people try to do too many things at one time, and that may be part of the reason they fail.

Authority! John, a great clip talking about the topic of authority and since you ARE an
authority it carries even more weight…another lesson within the lesson.

I saw this coming a year ago and have been working on a new “authority” site that will
open next month. It’s been a lot of work. Tons of content, video, audio, webinars,
and even more to add later, but I think this is what people are looking for.
One source for all their needs.
The real question is how to get as many eyeballs there as fast as possible so I can
dominate the market? Because it’s just a matter of time before there’s another,
then another, then another authority site fighting for the same eyeballs.
Just because you have a better mousetrap, does not mean that you will capture the
lion’s share of traffic.

JOHN - A QUESTION….. PLEASE ANSWER……
One site - If you have ONE site with 3000- 5000 pages, (which you suggested in your
Traffic secrets SE Cd rom)
how do you link them 5000 pages, internatlly with a sitemap, doesnt it get complicated
due to the VAST number of pages?

Thanks for sharing this video John. BTW, are you going to be making a course on making videos for the Internet? If not, you should in the future.
I’m sure you have people to help produce your videos, but I’ve seen you create some of your own as well. I’ve also seen LOTS of people on Squidoo giving tips and stuff, but I haven’t ran into one yet. Was Jason Moffatt doing that yet? Hmm. Perhaps you can suggest a online course or upcoming seminars on that topic. Or suggestions on the best places where we can get help.
Thanks.

So, John… is Income.com your ONE site? Or is it something else? Reminds me of the scene from City Slickers when Curly says you’ve got to look for that ONE THING…

Excellent Advice John,
I often wondered why more of the big time marketers do not have mega sites. They have niche here, sales page there, etc.
So I got off track and tried to copy them - hey they were making the money right!
Now I guess I should have concentrated my efforts. I will do so going forward!
Thanks

I have to say that none of these videos get watched by me due to the fact they are so slow and every 10 seconds they stop to catch up with themselves. Many other webmasters are putting out these videos and for those people outside of the USA (I am in Australia), they are totally unwatchable.
What you need to do is provide the download file and we can download it and watch it in Windows Media Player. Hope this is useful for the future.

Was just about to go off on a tangent of having one major site and lots of smaller linking sites. Major shift…….just one really huge site coming up. Am still wondering about links though. Will it be just a time game while waiting for everyone to find us.
Such a pity links have to play such a large role in the search engines.
Thanks for the info John.
June 26th, 2007 at 1:11 am
I completely agree with your point of view. I have listened to a lot of talk about if you are making $1 from one site you can make a $100 from 100 sites. I have personally found that maths doesn’t work on the internet.
If I put in 80% of the effort, as you say, on one site I would not only make more money through that site, I would also be satisfied with what I am doing.
Now I am going crazy updating all the things I have started.
Thanks for confirming what I have been feeling for sometime now.

Hey John, thanks for sharing you’re much appreciated. Your discussion revolves around the oldest principles. The Net is simple and at the same technologically complex because at the very core it’s all about people’s needs. Yeah computers are the go betweens. Basically the net is a reflection of what people do and will continue to do…that’s meeting, sharing, and connecting, it’s wired deep as social beings. We just gotta talk, so for the most part it’s still important to sharpen our communication skills, that means using video for word of mouth with compelling copy for call to action!
June 26th, 2007 at 5:13 am
The day that internet video quality will be acceptable is still to come - I cant wait!
Great points by the way! Thanks!
June 26th, 2007 at 6:44 am
You still have to ensure that the subject of
your authority
is a market with willing spenders.
June 26th, 2007 at 6:50 am
Awesome John. I am working on that. Do your biggest site, add a blog (most of your competitors don’t have one). Add a forum (same as blog), build acommunity.
Build a solid web business. Don’t worry if people don’t come in the next 6 months. If you build a quality site, people will find it.

One of the best presentations I’ve seen so far.
I can follow the reasoning behind this. It seems to me that as time passes only”workers” will reap benefit. The “smoke and mirrors” and the ” Me too” merchants will sink without trace.
Which will not be a bad thing in my opinion.

Good thoughts, John. How come I hadn’t seen you guys before? Very intrigued to see where you take your site.
June 28th, 2007 at 7:11 am
Dear John,
I am a member of Authority Site. However, I feel frustrated with the learning process. Takes SOOO long to get started. Meantime, I am paying $97/mo. 12 mths it would be almost $1200. Sure is expensive to get started. Considering quitting.
Can get lost doing the research!
Also, your video is slow to load. I watched another video the other week. It was very interesting but same problem. SLOW. Gave up after 45 mins of watching a 9min video. Had to call it a night. Pity. Also could not reload it to the part I stopped. Have 2 go through the whole thing again.
Is there some way you can let us download it? Or transcript? Otherwise, your gems of wisdom are lost! Thanks for considering.
PS I was a Trial member of Stompernet of recent $1 launch. Couldn’t continue. Videos again very slow to load. Too much and too little. Couldn’t afford it. I watched some good videos on the Forum area but only got half of it as Trial member. Not for the average guy or girl starting out.
June 30th, 2007 at 8:16 pm
John,
Have been a reader of your Reese Report for over 2 years. Just watched all your videos, this one really hit home. I have been splitting my staff’s time and my time in several niches and web sites. This was the model you were teaching and I did follow it.
The focus strategy makes a lot more sense now, considering how hard it is to rank on the search engines. We have worked hard and do rank on the first page of all three of the search engines.
Thanks for the clarity. Look forward to your Income.com launch.
